SARABETH MAHER RECEIVES NCIDQ CERTIFICATION!

profESSIONAL milestone achieved!

Angeline Guido Design is pleased to announce that Sarabeth Maher has received her NCIDQ certification and is now officially a Registered Interior Designer. Sarabeth has been a senior designer at Angeline Guido Design since July 2022. “Sarabeth is a hugely talented member of our team, and I could not be more proud of all of her hard work and dedication. Bringing her excellence to all of the projects she leads while pursuing her NCIDQ certification is nothing short of amazing, and I cannot wait to see her continue to grow and develop as an interior designer,” said Angeline Hall.

The NCIDQ certification is the interior design industry’s recognition of “proficiency in interior design principles and a designer's commitment to the profession.” After meeting the NCIDQ requirements, applicants must sit for a 3 part examination which requires many hours of studying and preparation. Once an applicant has achieved certification they have “proven their expertise in understanding and applying current codes established to protect public health, safety, and welfare.”

To help celebrate this milestone achievement by Sarabeth, we thought we would take a moment for a 2263 Q&A so everyone could get to know Sarabeth a little better!

Why did you decide to sit for the NCIDQ certification exam?

Interior design is my passion, and I am very blessed to be in this industry. I know the NCIDQ exam was going to be an opportunity for me to widen my knowledge and also challenge myself. If I knew exactly how challenging, I might have rethought it! Just joking! It really was a rewarding experience, and I am so excited about everything I learned.

Why/how did you become an interior designer?

I was studying fashion merchandising at The University of Georgia, but I was having doubts about how I would turn that into a career and would it fulfill me. After exploring other options, I realized that interior design allowed me to tap into both the creative and technical side of my mind.

What do you enjoy most about being an interior designer?

Getting to use my skill set every day to help people live and exist in spaces that make them happy is so rewarding. I love working closely with our clients, getting to know their tastes and how they see the world, but also getting to know them as people. This is a client focused industry, and I am so lucky to have the best clients!

What inspires your interior design?

My husband, Jack, and I love to travel to different places. Seeing the different color combinations in nature played out through a juxtaposition of shapes and sounds helps not only clear my mind but inspire me when I consider the selections going into the spaces I am working on.

Favorite Vacation Spot?

Banff, Alberta Canada is one of the most stunning places I have ever been.

Favorite Museum?

I am a huge nerd for the Perot Museum. I love the architecture, and the fact that I feel like a kid while also engaging that technical side of my brain when I am exploring the exhibits!

Favorite Paint Color?

Farrow and Ball’s Treron. It's just that perfect shade of green.

Do you have a pet?

Yes, a dog named Finn!

If you did not live in Dallas, where would you live?

I absolutely love Dallas, but if I were to move anywhere, I would want to be closer to family. I feel like Asheville, North Carolina would be a great fit for my husband and I. It is a beautiful area with access to national parks and the weather is amazing.

What is your favorite part of coming to work at AGD?

I am so lucky to get to work with such talented and creative people. And there is never a shortage of laughs around the office!

Angeline and the whole AGD Team are so proud of you Sarabeth!
